Creag Rainich

Creag Rainich is a mountain summit reached on the route between Loch Maree and Loch Broom in the Scottish Highlands. It stands at a grid reference in open moorland north-west of Kinlochewe. The mountain is classified as a Marilyn, Corbett and HuMP, terms used by hill-walking groups to describe prominence and height. Its importance comes from being measured and verified by several hill databases. These groups maintain lists of British and Irish hills and update them regularly. The name is also recorded in the original Gaelic language. Visitors follow paths across heather moorland to reach the summit. The view from the top takes in the surrounding ridges and lochans. The route offers a quiet walk away from busy roads, with only the wind and birds for company.
