An Sgùrr

An Sgùrr is a hill on the broad peninsula between Loch Carron and Loch Kishorn in the Highlands. It stands as a rough knoll with small crags around the summit, especially on the western side. The hill rises above the surrounding landscape, offering clear views in all directions. The climb can start from several points. The A896 road runs about two kilometres north of the hill. A forestry track south of Lochcarron provides access from the southeast. The path linking Achintraid and Reraig passes southwest of An Sgùrr. From there, the summit can be reached via the Bealach that separates An Sgùrr from Bad a' Chreamha, a kilometre or so to the east. Visitors find a rugged path leading to the top, where the crags frame the view. The route winds through open ground before reaching the final rocky steps. From the summit, the lochs and hills stretch out in every direction. The climb rewards walkers with a quiet sense of space and height.
