Beinn Mhic Chasgaig

Beinn Mhic Chasgaig is a mountain in the Highlands, reached along the route from Glen Etive to Glen Lochy. Its summit lies at grid reference NN221501 and bears a small cairn. The mountain belongs to three hill lists used in Britain and Ireland: Marilyns, Corbetts and HuMPs. The peak is measured and verified by several hill societies who maintain the lists on the Database of British and Irish Hills. Its height was last re-surveyed on 15 January 2003. The name is recorded in Gaelic, as is standard practice for Scottish mountains. A walker who reaches the top finds open ground and wide views across Glen Etive and Glen Lochy. The climb involves steady gradients without technical difficulty. The surrounding area shows typical Highland scenery of heather, streams and distant ridges.
