Deutschlandsberg District

Deutschlandsberg District lies in the south-west of Styria, a state in southern Austria. It stretches from the wine villages of the Laßnitz valley up to the forested ridges of the Koralpe. The district is mostly rural, with rolling vineyards, small wooded hills and scattered farmsteads. The area is known for its wine and its quiet walking paths. The town of Deutschlandsberg gives the district its name and is the main settlement. Nearby villages such as Groß Sankt Florian and Eibiswald have old churches and farm museums. The Koralpe range offers longer hikes and views across three provinces. Visitors find well-marked trails through vineyards and beech woods. The Laßnitz river winds through the valley, lined with wine taverns. Small churches from the 18th and 19th centuries stand in the villages. The countryside is dotted with farm buildings and small orchards. At higher levels the forest is dense and the air is cool.
