Woodville Halls Theatre

The Woodville Halls Theatre stands in Gravesend, Kent, on the site of the former Civic Centre. The 1970s building houses an 810-seat auditorium used for theatre, concerts, banquets and trade shows. Below the main hall is a smaller studio seating up to 150 and the Blake Art Gallery. Visitors can also use private function rooms, the Spotlites Café and a bar. The venue was renamed The Woodville in 2013. A year later a new Dolby 7.1 cinema with 3D capability opened, named after director Paul Greengrass. The general manager reports to Gravesham Borough Council, which runs the halls to serve Gravesend and the wider area. The building reflects the architecture of its early 1970s origins. Inside, the large auditorium hosts performances and events for the community. The studio space provides an intimate setting for smaller productions. The Blake Art Gallery displays changing exhibitions, while the café and bar offer refreshments. The cinema shows mainstream and independent films in high-quality surround sound.
