Adams Park

Adams Park is a football stadium in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. It stands at the end of Hillbottom Road on the edge of the Sands Industrial Estate, two miles west of the town centre. The ground replaced Loakes Park, the club’s former ground, which had been sold to fund the new stadium. It was named after Frank Adams, a former captain who donated the old ground to the club. The stadium opened in 1990 with a capacity of 6,000, including 1,267 seats in the Main Stand. It has since expanded to seat over 10,000 and now hosts football, rugby and women’s football. The stadium’s history reflects the club’s progress and shared use with other teams. Martin O’Neill’s successful Wycombe side won the FA Trophy shortly after the move. Between 2002 and 2014, London Wasps shared the ground, leading to upgrades in facilities and hospitality. Reading Women played there from 2016 to 2020, bringing investment in pitch and media facilities. The ground has also hosted England youth internationals and major finals, including the FA Women’s Premier League Cup final in 2006. Inside the stadium, the Frank Adams Stand holds hospitality boxes, media facilities and family seating. The Origin Stand contains the club offices, changing rooms and shop. The WhiffAway Stand is for away supporters, while the Beechdean Terrace remains the only standing area. Two hospitality suites, the Caledonian and Woodlands, serve matchday guests, along with Monty’s supporters’ bar. The club shop sits between the East and North stands. Outside, the single-access route from Hillbottom Road leads to the stadium, with matchday buses running from High Wycombe railway station.
