Pöstlingberghotel

The Pöstlingbergschlössl stands on the Linzer Pöstlingberg, a hill in Upper Austria. Built between 1897 and 1898 as a hotel and restaurant, it now houses a single restaurant. The building is protected as a historic monument. The architects Fritz Hessemer and Johannes Schmidt designed the structure, with Gustav Steinberger overseeing construction. The building cost about 35,000 gulden and features a tall tower on one side and a polygonal bay on the other. The façade includes wide round arches on the ground floor and decorative elements in the upper storeys. Visitors find a restaurant with a glassed-in veranda on two sides. The central tower divides the building, topped by a varied roofline with gables and dormers. A fountain stands in the garden, and the surrounding area offers views over Linz. The interior retains historic details like the stairwell windows and ornamental panels.
