Church of St Andrew, Arthingworth

St Andrew’s Church in Arthingworth is an Anglican parish church standing on the north side of Braybrooke Road. It is a Grade II* listed building whose main structure dates from the 12th and 14th centuries. Restoration work took place in the 19th century. The church contains a nave, north and south aisles, a chancel and a west tower. Historic England provides a detailed description of the building. The absence of any church or priest in the Domesday Book of 1086 suggests there was no church building then or at least no resident priest. Parish registers have survived from 1650 and are kept at Northamptonshire Record Office. Arthingworth forms part of a united Benefice with East Farndon, Harrington and Oxendon. Each parish keeps its own church building while sharing clergy. Inside, visitors find the nave and aisles leading to the chancel and west tower.
