Saint Andrew Church
The parish church of Draßmarkt stands on a hill in the centre of the village in Burgenland. It belongs to the Diocese of Eisenstadt and is dedicated to Saint Andrew. The church has been protected as a listed building since the 20th century. The present structure dates from the 16th century, though it was later enlarged and restored. A medieval parish was founded here long before, and the first church may have served as a fortified refuge. In the 19th century the building was extended, and between 1971 and 1977 it underwent a full renovation. Inside, the church is a single hall with narrow windows and a five-bay barrel vault. The west tower has three storeys and a stone roof, while the south porch has a curved gable. The modern high altar contrasts with the 18th-century statues of Saints Peter and Paul beside the apse. A 19th-century pulpit shows figures of the four Evangelists and a figure of Christ the Saviour.
