Helios

Helios is a steel roller coaster in the Fantasiana amusement park near Salzburg. It stands on the site of the former Wild Train ride, which operated from 2005 to 2024. The track is 470 metres long and reaches a height of 23 metres. It features an outwardly banked airtime hill and three inversions: a corkscrew, a barrel roll downdrop and another corkscrew. The ride is built by Mack Rides and uses the BigDipper model.

The single Stryker-Coaster train carries eight passengers in two rows of four. Each seat has its own lap bar and the train has an on-board sound system. The track is designed so that a second train can be added later if needed. The ride opened to the public in April 2025.

Visitors board the train and experience rapid turns, steep drops and moments of weightlessness on the airtime hill. The inversions spin riders upside down twice while the train races along the twisting steel track. The on-board soundtrack adds to the excitement of each run. The ride’s outward-banked hill gives a feeling of floating sideways. The park’s setting in the Salzburg countryside provides a scenic backdrop for the thrilling ride.
