Pfarrkirche Guter Hirte

The Pfarrkirche Guter Hirte stands in the Linz district of Neue Heimat, Kleinmünchen, in Upper Austria. It is a modern Roman Catholic parish church belonging to the Linz-Süd deanery in the Diocese of Linz. The church replaced a temporary wooden structure built in 1950 for the growing suburb. Its present building was designed by Gottfried Nobl and Othmar Kainz between 1976 and 1978. The interior features stained-glass windows by Rudolf Kolbitsch, a Good Shepherd statue by Jakob Adlhart, and bronze reliefs of the Stations of the Cross by Leopold Hollnbuchner. The organ was installed in 1988 by Friedrich Heftner. Visitors enter a bright, spacious nave with clean lines and natural light filtering through the coloured glass. The Good Shepherd statue overlooks the congregation from the sanctuary. Bronze reliefs line the side walls, guiding worshippers through the Way of the Cross. The organ occupies a lofty position above the entrance, ready to fill the church with sound during services.
