Henley Business School

Henley Business School stands on two sites linked to the University of Reading. The Greenlands Campus sits beside the Thames near Henley-on-Thames, occupying a country estate once home to the WH Smith family. Whiteknights Campus lies within Reading itself. The school formed in 2008 when Henley Management College merged with the university’s existing business school. Its reputation rests on triple accreditation from AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB, placing it among the world’s leading business schools. The original college began in 1945 as the Administrative Staff College, offering short courses for managers from civil service, private firms and nationalised industries. Influences included management consultant Lyndall Urwick and businessman Sir Geoffrey Heyworth, while Noel Hall designed the first curriculum. The school ran its first Masters in Business in 1974, later renamed the MBA. A visitor finds modern teaching buildings alongside historic estate features at Greenlands. The Whiteknights site provides extensive academic facilities across eight specialist schools. Both campuses sit in parkland settings, one beside the river and the other on a landscaped university estate. The combined resources support degree programmes, research centres and executive education under dean Elena Beleska-Spasova.
