Gottvaterspitze

The Gottvaterspitze is a mountain peak in the Austrian Alps. It stands in the district of Bludenz, in the western part of Vorarlberg. The summit rises 2,438 metres above sea level, towering 155 metres above the surrounding terrain. Its base stretches 1.7 kilometres wide. The nearest town, Bludenz, lies 5.9 kilometres to the north. The area around the Gottvaterspitze is mostly rugged highland. The landscape is mainly grassy meadows and open slopes. Fewer than fifty people live in each square kilometre nearby. The terrain remains steep and rocky for much of the climb. Visitors reach the peak along narrow mountain paths. The route passes through quiet alpine meadows before reaching the final rocky sections. From the summit, wide views stretch across Vorarlberg’s valleys and peaks. The air is clear, and the only sounds are wind and distant cowbells.
