Fremersberg Tower
The Fremersbergturm is a tall telecommunication tower made of reinforced concrete. It stands on the 525-metre-high Fremersberg near Baden-Baden. The tower was built in 1961 and rises to 83 metres. An observation deck sits 30 metres above the ground. A small restaurant sits beside the tower. The tower’s height and position make it a useful landmark. It was built to support broadcasting and communications services. The Fremersberg itself is a wooded hill that overlooks the region. The tower’s location at 48°45'10" N and 8°12'8" E places it within easy reach of Baden-Baden. Visitors find the observation deck offers wide views over the surrounding countryside. The restaurant provides a place to rest after climbing the tower. The tower stands apart from the trees on the hilltop. From here, the landscape of the Black Forest and the Rhine Valley can be seen. The small size of the restaurant keeps the focus on the tower and the view.
