Llwynywermod

Llwynywermod is a 192-acre estate in Carmarthenshire, Wales, owned by the Duchy of Cornwall. It lies just outside the Brecon Beacons National Park, close to the village of Myddfai and the town of Llandovery. The nearest railway station is in Llandovery, two miles away. The estate includes a farmhouse, converted cottages, and the ruins of a former country house. It sits in a quiet rural setting with rolling hills and farmland. The estate has belonged to notable figures across the centuries. In the 13th or 14th century it was owned by William Williams, a relative of Anne Boleyn. In the 19th century it became the seat of the Griffies-Williams baronets, including General Sir Watkin Lewis Griffies Williams. In 2006 the Duchy of Cornwall bought the estate for the Duke of Cornwall. Charles, Prince of Wales, and Camilla moved in during 2008, with interiors designed by Camilla’s sister Annabel Elliot. Visitors see a three-bedroom farmhouse converted into a residence using traditional techniques. Nearby cottages named North Range and West Range are let as holiday accommodation. The ruins of the former country house stand close by. The estate offers peaceful walks through farmland and views of the surrounding countryside. It reflects both its historic past and its recent royal use.
