Thermen & Badewelt Sinsheim

The Thermen & Badewelt Sinsheim is a modern thermal spa in Sinsheim, set in the Kraichgau region within the Rhein-Neckar district. It sits at the foot of Burg Steinsberg, a hill topped by a medieval castle ruin. The spa occupies a protected natural area, blending contemporary design with the surrounding landscape. The spa opened in December 2012 after a rapid construction led by entrepreneur and architect Josef Wund. It quickly gained attention for its scale and innovation. In 2013, the Koi-Sauna was certified as the world’s largest sauna, holding up to 150 people on 166 square metres. The facility hosted the World Aufguss Championship in 2015, drawing 69 professional steam masters from 15 countries. A later addition, the floating Saunaboot Freya, launched in 2021 as the first self-propelled sauna boat on a natural lake. Inside, the Palmenparadies offers a 2,200-square-metre tropical space with over 400 South Sea palms and a warm 34 °C lagoon. A 2,000-square-metre sandy beach, Paradise Beach, surrounds a 10,000-square-metre lake with a beach bar. The Vitaltherme & Sauna section includes 13 saunas, a mineral pool with Dead Sea salt, and a 34 °C blue lagoon with massage jets. The Sportbad features a six-lane 25-metre pool, diving boards, and training facilities used by schools and clubs.
