Pfarrkirche Mariä Himmelfahrt, Zell an der Pram

The parish church of Zell an der Pram stands in the centre of the village in Upper Austria. It is a single-aisled, three-bay hall church dedicated to the Assumption of Mary. The building has been protected as a listed monument since the 20th century. The present church was constructed between 1771 and 1777 by François de Cuvilliés the Younger with Blasius Aichinger. A fire in 1782 damaged the interior, but the side altars survived. The tower gained its onion dome and lantern in 1908. Inside, the nave shows strong spatial effect. The choir is set back and ends in a semicircle. The organ case dates from 1795 and was built by Josef Gast. The church’s furnishings reflect the late 18th-century style after the restoration.
