Broadgate Tower

Broadgate Tower stands in the City of London, the capital’s main financial district. Completed in 2008, the thirty-three-storey skyscraper rises beside the smaller 201 Bishopsgate. A covered pedestrian area links the two buildings at ground level. The tower was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and built by Bovis Lend Lease between 2005 and 2008. Its construction was managed by British Land through its subsidiary Broadgate Plaza Ltd. The building has appeared in films, including the James Bond movie Skyfall, where it represented a Shanghai skyscraper. Inside, a range of businesses occupy the floors, from Aldermore Bank and ClearBank to law firms and trading companies. The list includes Hill Dickinson, Reed Smith, Regus and Your World. The tower’s design and height make it a landmark among London’s skyline. Visitors reach the tower through the pedestrian area shared with 201 Bishopsgate. The plaza below offers views of the surrounding office blocks and the City’s historic streets. The building’s glass façade reflects the changing light throughout the day. Its presence marks the modern financial heart of London.
