Verhupfspitze

The Verhupfspitze is a mountain peak in the far west of Austria, standing within the Silvretta range in Vorarlberg. It rises 2957 metres above sea level, towering 226 metres above the surrounding terrain. The base stretches about 1.6 kilometres wide, giving the summit a broad, solid presence. Alpine grassland covers most of the ground around the peak, with few settlements nearby. The nearest village, Gaschurn, lies 10.7 kilometres to the north. Roughly 24 people live in each square kilometre of the wider district, so the area feels quiet and remote. Walkers reach the top along narrow paths that wind through open meadows and low ridges. The views stretch across high valleys and distant ridges, showing the rugged shape of the Silvretta group. On clear days the panorama includes peaks in Switzerland and Italy.
