Gracious Pond

Gracious Pond is a nature reserve in Chobham, Surrey. It covers fourteen hectares and is managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust. The site lies within the larger Chobham Common Site of Special Scientific Interest. It contains heath, wet woodland and several ponds. The reserve supports a variety of habitats in close proximity. The reserve is recognised for its rare wildlife. Common toads and raft spiders live among the ponds. Raft spiders can run across the water surface. Heathland plants such as round-leaved sundew grow here. Beech trees form part of the woodland canopy. No public paths cross the reserve. Visitors remain outside the boundary. The site is kept undisturbed to protect its species. Views of the ponds and surrounding heath can be seen from the adjacent common. The reserve remains a quiet place for wildlife to thrive.
