Ranggen, Kath. Pfarrkirche hl. Magnus und Friedhof

The parish church of Ranggen stands on a gentle rise at the north-west edge of the village in the Tyrolean district of Innsbruck-Land. A Roman Catholic church dedicated to Saint Magnus of Füssen, it belongs to the deanery of Axams in the diocese of Innsbruck and shares protected status with its neighbouring cemetery. Built between 1775 and 1778 to designs by the master builder Franz Singer, the church replaced an earlier structure first recorded in 1359. It was consecrated in 1780 and raised to parish rank in 1891, with later restorations in 1935 and 1973. Inside, visitors find ceiling frescoes by Franz Anton Zeiller from 1778, depicting scenes such as the Assumption of the Virgin and the life of Saint Magnus. The church’s late-baroque furnishings include an altarpiece by Josef Anton Zoller showing Saint Magnus interceding for the poor and sick. A free-standing mensa holds the tabernacle, flanked by statues by Johann Schnegg. The 1900 organ, built by Franz Weber, was restored in 1992. Outside, the churchyard is enclosed by a sloping wall, and a late-gothic heraldic slab from 1515 marks a grave.
