Holy Trinity Church

The Roman Catholic parish church of Deinzendorf stands at the eastern edge of the village in Zellerndorf, Hollabrunn district, Lower Austria. Dedicated to the Holy Trinity, it belongs to the deanery of Retz-Pulkautal within the vicariate of Unter dem Manhartsberg in the Archdiocese of Vienna. The church building is listed as a historic monument. The parish was founded in 1784, and the Josephinian single-nave church was built between 1786 and 1788. The exterior is classical in style, with a slightly recessed rectangular choir and a projecting west tower topped by clock gables and a pyramid roof. Segment-arched windows line the façade, which ends in a continuous cornice. The west front is plain, featuring curved blind gables. Inside, the flat-ceilinged nave is divided by pilasters. The west gallery, vaulted with Platzl, projects slightly and holds an organ. A semicircular triumphal arch leads to the rectangular choir with chamfered corners. The neo-Gothic stained-glass windows from 1896–97 depict scenes including the Coronation of the Virgin, the Assumption, Pentecost, the Ascension and the Resurrection. The high altar, a classical columned retable from the late 18th century, features a painting of the Holy Trinity. Side figures of Joachim and Anna date from the same period, while a side altar shows Anna and Mary by Martin Johann Schmidt, moved here from the Franciscan church in Langenlois. The pulpit, also late 18th century, displays reliefs of St Peter receiving the keys, the Denial of Christ and the Road to Emmaus.
