Bayes Business School

Bayes Business School stands in the northern part of the City of London, between Bunhill Row and Finsbury Square. It belongs to City, St George’s, University of London and was set up in 1966. The school houses three faculties: actuarial science and insurance, finance, and management. It awards bachelor’s, master’s, MBA and doctoral degrees and holds triple accreditation from AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB. Until 2021 it was known as Cass Business School, renamed after the 18th-century statistician Thomas Bayes. Professor André Spicer serves as dean. The school’s reputation rests on strong rankings and research output. It is ranked second in London and sixth in the UK among European business schools by the Financial Times. Ninety-two per cent of its research is rated world-leading or internationally excellent. Its full-time MBA is first in London for value for money and graduate employment within three months. The online MBA is fourth globally and first in the UK for faculty and teaching. The MSc in Finance is third in the UK and sixteenth worldwide. Visitors find two main buildings in Bunhill Row and Finsbury Square. The Costas Grammenos Centre for Shipping, Trade and Finance and the Centre for Charity Effectiveness are based here. The school hosts annual lectures such as the Mais Lecture and the Craft Lecture, which address banking, finance and social justice. More than 38,000 alumni live in 160 countries, including Stelios Haji-Ioannou, founder of easyGroup, and William Castell, former chief executive of Amersham plc.
