Fallbach

Fallbach is a small stream in the Inn valley near Innsbruck in Tirol. It rises in the Nordkette mountains and flows down through the village of Rum before joining the Inn at Baumkirchen. The stream runs for about seven kilometres, mostly through quiet meadows and light woodland. The Fallbach is one of the shortest named tributaries of the Inn in the region. Its clear mountain water once powered several small mills along its banks. Today the stream remains a peaceful spot where walkers follow the path beside the water. Visitors find a gentle riverside walk lined with willows and alders. The path is wide enough for families and leads past old farmhouses and a single small chapel. In spring the banks are bright with marsh marigolds and forget-me-nots.
