Schloss Hasperde

Schloss Hasperde stands in the village of Hasperde within the Hameln-Pyrmont district of Lower Saxony. Built in 1675 in the Renaissance style, the complex originally served as a noble residence before becoming a senior home. A park with rare plants surrounds the red-brick wings, marking the site as the village’s landmark. The estate passed through several noble families, including the von Lenthe, von Eddingerode, von Hammerstein-Equord and, from 1675, the Freiherren von Kipe. In 1775 Amalie Ernestine von Kipe married Freiherr Adolf Christoph von Hake, bringing the property to the Hake family. Her son, Oberforstmeister Christoph Friedrich VI. Freiherr von Hake, created the landscaped park. Later, Otto von Hake commissioned architect August Lingemann to remodel the main house between 1883 and 1889, adding a third storey, turrets and dormers in a neo-Renaissance style. Visitors enter a three-wing arrangement of cream-plastered brickwork under steep grey roofs. Inside the former chapel, built in 1896, the first Catholic mass was celebrated and the room still serves occasional services. Beyond the lawns, a polygonal mausoleum with an open colonnade and broad flight of steps overlooks the park. The estate’s farmyard buildings and a modern manor house, rebuilt in 1952, complete the scene.
