Schloss Seeleiten

Schloss Seeleiten is a manor house in the village of Seeleiten, part of Seehausen on the Staffelsee in Upper Bavaria. Emanuel von Seidl, a Munich architect, designed it between 1903 and 1904 for Max von Seubert. The building is listed as a historic monument under the Bavarian heritage register. The estate includes several protected structures such as a carriage house, tool shed, gatehouse, coachman’s house, pergola, stable and guesthouse. A separate building, the Kavaliershaus, is also listed. The manor’s main house and its surrounding structures reflect early 20th-century craftsmanship. The estate was converted into a private residential complex between 1984 and 1989. The listed ensemble shows how a rural estate was organised in the early 1900s. The Bavarian heritage office recognises the cultural value of the entire site. Visitors find a well-preserved ensemble of buildings set in a quiet lakeside landscape. The manor house sits among farm buildings arranged around a courtyard. The pergola, gatehouse and coachman’s house add to the historic atmosphere. The Staffelsee lies nearby, offering views across the water. The site remains a residential area, so visitors should respect private property while enjoying the historic setting.
