Ochilview Park

Ochilview Park stands in Stenhousemuir, a town within the Falkirk council area of Scotland. It is a football stadium surrounded by the Ochil Hills, which give the ground its name. The stadium has been home to Stenhousemuir Football Club since 1890, though it has also hosted other clubs over the years. Nearby Larbert railway station lies just one kilometre away, making the ground easy to reach. The record attendance of 12,525 was set in 1950 during a Scottish Cup quarter-final. In 1951, Ochilview became the first stadium in Scotland to stage a floodlit match. The ground has a long history of ground-sharing with nearby clubs. Stirling Albion, Falkirk and East Stirlingshire have all played home games here while their own stadiums were rebuilt or redeveloped. Stenhousemuir Juniors were the first to share the ground in 1909–10. A new main stand was built in 1996 and named the Norway Stand after a sponsorship deal with the club’s Norwegian supporters. The old main stand was demolished in 1999 after failing a safety inspection. Today, Ochilview Park has a single seated stand on one side and terraces on the other. The Tryst Road end features a roof built by club volunteers. The east end has been converted into artificial pitches for community use. A FIFA-approved synthetic pitch covers the playing surface. Greyhound racing was once held here in the 1920s to raise funds. The stadium remains a focal point for local football and community activities.
