Schloss Waldenbuch
Waldenbuch Castle stands beside the town of Waldenbuch in the Stuttgart region. It is a princely residence built as a hunting lodge for the dukes of Württemberg. The first written record of the castle dates from 1381. Today it serves as the summer home of the Erbprinz Berk Canpasoglou de Fürstenberg and his family. The castle itself remains closed to visitors. Only the Museum der Alltagskultur inside is open to the public. The museum inside the castle is worth the journey for anyone interested in everyday culture. It presents objects that show how people lived in past centuries. The displays include furniture, clothing, tools and household items from the region. Visitors can see how daily life changed over time through these artefacts. The collection gives a clear picture of ordinary life in Württemberg. Inside the museum rooms are arranged to show different aspects of everyday life. There are displays of historic kitchens, workshops and parlours. Visitors walk through rooms filled with original pieces arranged in period settings. The exhibits are grouped by theme so each area tells its own story. Outside, the castle grounds offer quiet walks around the old hunting park. The setting remains peaceful, with views over the surrounding countryside.
