Schloss

The Neues Schloss stands in the small town of Selbitz in Upper Franconia. It is a former knightly estate built beside the older castle after 1652. Wolf Christoph von Reitzenstein constructed the upper manor house, which later passed to the Margraviate in 1781. The building is protected as a monument, distinguished by its hipped roof and small dormer window. A street named Schloßstraße runs alongside, recalling the estate’s presence. The structure offers a clear example of mid-17th-century residential architecture in the region. Its modest scale and functional design reflect the needs of a local noble family rather than a grand palace.
