Kreuzberg Saddle

Kreuzberg Saddle is a high mountain pass in the Gailtal Alps of Carinthia, Austria. It stands at 1,074 metres above sea level on the B 87 Weißensee Straße highway. The pass links Greifenburg in the Drava valley with Gitschtal and Hermagor on the Gail river. To the west, the Reißkofel massif rises above the road. To the east, a side road branches off toward Lake Weissensee. The route is part of the B 87 road network and offers a clear route across the Alps. It connects three valleys and two major rivers in the region. Travellers use it to reach Weissensee from the Drava valley. The pass sits beneath the Reißkofel massif, which dominates the western skyline. At the summit, visitors find an open roadside area with views of the surrounding peaks. The Reißkofel massif stands to the west, while the Gail valley stretches to the east. A branch road leads down to Lake Weissensee, a short distance away. The pass itself is quiet, with only the sound of passing traffic and mountain winds. The setting is alpine, with meadows and forests on either side of the highway.
