The Catholic parish church of Mariae Namen stands in the eastern part of Sulz in the Wienerwald, a village within the Wienerwald municipality in Mödling district, Lower Austria. The church is dedicated to the Feast of the Name of Mary and belongs to Heiligenkreuz Abbey. Both the church and the stone figures of Saints Peter and Paul are listed as protected monuments.
The church was built in 1783 following plans by master builder Philipp Schlucker, replacing an earlier chapel erected in 1747 after a cowherd’s vow. The late Baroque single-nave structure has a slightly recessed, flat-bowed choir and a west tower. The nave is covered by a simple pitched roof with rounded corners and segment-arched windows. The tower façade features corner pilasters and a steep pyramid roof. Flanking the main entrance are the stone figures of Peter and Paul, carved in the late 18th century.
Inside, the church reveals a flat mirror vault over the nave and a west organ loft supported by wooden posts. The flat-bowed triumphal arch leads to a semicircular choir with a shallow barrel vault. The high altar, dating from the building period, is framed by a pilaster colonnade topped with a statue of the Holy Trinity and a central painting of Mariahilf from 1748. The two side altars, originally commissioned by Maria Theresia for Laxenburg, were moved here in 1783. The pulpit displays reliefs of the Church Fathers and a bust of Saint Bernard, while the organ built by Christoph Erler in 1816 sits in a classical casing.
