Becky Falls

Becky Falls lies in the heart of Dartmoor, a wild upland area in Devon. A waterfall drops about twenty metres over boulders on the Becka Brook, one of the main tributaries of the River Bovey. The brook rises south of Hound Tor and passes through the site before reaching the Bovey below Trendlebere Down. Two separate falls appear along the brook, each with a drop of around twenty metres. The place was once called Becka Falls, a name still shown on Ordnance Survey maps into the 1940s. The attraction centres on the waterfall but also includes a woodland park. Visitors find a children’s zoo, a woodland trail and craft workshops among the trees. The park is designed for families and offers simple ways to enjoy the natural surroundings. Paths wind through the woods, leading to viewpoints of the falls and the brook. A visit offers shaded walks, small animals to see and hands-on activities. The sound of water mixes with woodland birds as paths climb beside the falls. The site remains a quiet spot despite its popularity, with clear views of the cascades. Visitors leave with memories of moving water and green hills around them.
