Kath. Filialkirche hl. Anna

The small Roman Catholic church of St Anna stands in the south-east corner of Jormannsdorf village, part of Bad Tatzmannsdorf municipality in Burgenland. Built under the deanery of Pinkafeld and the diocese of Eisenstadt, it is protected by the federal monument list. Medieval masonry was reused when the present church was erected in the 17th century. Restoration work took place in 1788, followed by a remodelling in 1846 that added a gallery. Exterior repairs came in 1961 and interior ones in 1964. A bell cast by Balthasar Herold of Vienna in 1678 still hangs in the tower. A floor slab beneath the gallery commemorates Balthasar Christof von Samitz, who died in 1683. Inside, the single nave is divided into three bays under ribbed vaults on pilasters. A three-bay west gallery carries a curved stucco parapet. The sanctuary has a semi-circular apse with shell vaulting, while an 18th-century oratory balcony occupies the left side. Paintings include a late-17th-century Nativity, a mid-18th-century scene of Maria appearing to a group of saintly orders, and a nazarenesque Last Supper from the early 19th century.
