Hans-Momsen-Haus

The Hans-Momsen-Haus stands in Fahretoft, a village in the Dagebüll municipality of Nordfriesland. Built in 1712, it was the birthplace and lifelong home of Hans Momsen, a noted North Frisian polymath who lived from 1735 to 1811. The house sits on the Gabrielswarft, directly opposite the St. Laurentius Church. It is recognised as one of the cultural monuments in the Dagebüll area. Today it holds the distinction of being the oldest surviving dwelling in Fahretoft. The house draws visitors interested in local history and the life of Hans Momsen.
