Cylch Cerrig Penbedw

Cylch Cerrig Penbedw is a Bronze Age stone circle in Flintshire, between Nannerch and Rhydymwyn. Its remains lie scattered across a 30-metre circle of grassland. Five upright stones still stand, ranging from 0.45 to 1.55 metres tall, spaced an average of 9.14 metres apart. A tall standing stone nearby reaches nearly two metres and marks the old roadside. The site carries a national importance code from Cadw. Archaeologists believe the circle dates from 2300 to 800 BC. No written record mentions it before the 18th century, so its exact age remains uncertain. Experts think it served as a ritual and burial ground for prehistoric communities.
