Pfarrkirche Wildalpen

The Catholic parish church of Saint Barbara stands in Wildalpen, a village in the Liezen district of Styria. Built in 1674, it is a single-aisled structure with three bays and flat ribbed vaults. The church belongs to Admont Abbey and is protected as a listed monument. Inside, the space was remodelled in the late 18th century and restored in 1973. Notable features include frescoes from 1784–1785 by Johann and Alois Lederwasch that cover the entire interior. The west wall shows musing angels, the first vault depicts Christ in the Garden of Olives, and the side chapels contain framed angel motifs and a Vera Icon. The high altar displays a painted Pietà framed in late Baroque style, flanked by statues of Sebastian and Roch. A colour window from 1873–1874 shows Saints Eustace and John of Nepomuk. The organ case dates from 1893, with an interior by Gregor Hradetzky from 1975.
