Pfarr- und Wallfahrtskirche Maria Rast

The parish church of Steinerkirchen am Innbach stands in the village of the same name in the district of Grieskirchen, Upper Austria. It is a Roman Catholic church dedicated to the Visitation of Mary and belongs to the Diocese of Linz. The building is protected as a historic monument. The church was built around 1500 as a single-aisled Gothic structure. A northern side aisle was added later. The nave has a net-ribbed vault, while the side aisle features a cross vault. The three-bay choir ends in a three-sided apse and is also net-ribbed. A tall spire tops the western tower at the northern corner of the nave. The organ loft, with its two aisles, is supported by net ribs beneath it. Inside, the high altar in the Gothic Revival style holds the tabernacle. The side altars and pulpit date from around 1700 and show Baroque craftsmanship. The late Gothic southern portal is framed by a net-ribbed porch. The church’s vaulting and architectural details reflect its long history and the changes it has undergone over centuries.
