Pfahlheimer Bauernstube
The Pfahlheimer Bauernstube is the smallest museum in the Ostalb district of Baden-Württemberg. It sits in Pfahlheim, now a district of Ellwangen, surrounded by gentle countryside. The building itself is a modest timber-framed structure that once served the local farming community. The museum brings to life the history, economy and culture of Pfahlheim when it was purely a farming village. Its displays include traditional costumes, wooden chests and cupboards, all collected by the former parish priest Eugen Adis. Everyday objects and household items from the 19th and early 20th centuries are also on show. Visitors find a single room filled with carefully arranged exhibits. The collection tells the story of rural life through tools, furniture and clothing. The quiet atmosphere of the Bauernstube lets the past speak quietly yet clearly.
