Felix Gottwald Ski Jumping Stadium

The Felix-Gottwald-Skisprungstadion stands on the Biberg hill in Uttenhofen, a village within the Saalfelden borough in Salzburg. The stadium has four jumps of sizes K 15, K 30, K 60 and K 85. The smallest three jumps are fitted with mats for summer use, while the K 85 operates only in winter. A gondola lift serves the jumps, and the central operations building includes a judges tower, changing rooms and a wax workshop. The stadium was renamed in 2004 in honour of Felix Gottwald, a local Nordic combination skier. The stadium has hosted major events, including the Nordic Junior World Championships in 1988 and 1999. The K 60 jump was upgraded from a K 45 in 2004 and opened that October. The Saalfelden Ski Club and the Army Sports Club previously operated jumps in Saalfelden between 1950 and 1980. The Biberg Ski Jump was added in 1986 before the stadium’s renaming. The stadium’s summer use and modern facilities make it a notable venue for ski jumping year-round. Visitors find a large terrace on the operations building’s roof offering clear views of the jumps. The K 15, K 30 and K 60 jumps are visible from this vantage point. The judges tower and multi-purpose room are part of the central building’s layout. Changing rooms, ablutions and a wax workshop support athletes and officials. The gondola lift provides access to the jumps from the base area. The stadium’s surroundings include the Biberg hill, adding to its scenic setting.
