The EVA-Turm stands on the Silberberg, a wooded hill northwest of Ahrweiler. It is one of two wooden observation towers in the town, built by the local branch of the Eifel Club in 2004. The Silberberg itself reaches 300 metres above sea level, offering wide views over the Ahr valley and the surrounding vineyards. From the tower’s platform visitors look across to the Steinthalskopf, where a smaller wooden tower stands on the 417-metre summit. The path to the EVA-Turm begins near the edge of the town centre and climbs gently through mixed woodland.

The tower is named after Eva, a figure from local legend who is said to have guided lost travellers to safety. Its 12.8-metre height gives an unobstructed panorama of the Ahr river winding below and the distant Eifel mountains. On clear days the towers of Bad Neuenahr can be seen to the west and the towers of Sinzig to the east. The design uses larch and oak, materials chosen to blend with the surrounding forest.

At the base of the hillside path stands a small car park and an information board describing the local geology and flora. The platform is reached by a short flight of steps and a short ladder, making it accessible to most visitors. In autumn the turning leaves add colour to the view, while in spring the valley below is bright with blossoming fruit trees. The tower is quiet even on busy weekends, giving walkers a place to rest and enjoy the landscape.
