Britannia Stadium

The bet365 Stadium stands in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, on the former site of Stafford No.2 Colliery. It is an all-seater football ground with a capacity of 30,089. The stadium replaced the Victoria Ground after 115 years. Sir Stanley Matthews opened the ground in 1997 and his ashes lie beneath the centre circle. The ground was renamed in 2016 after a sponsorship deal with bet365. The stadium’s four cantilever stands hold supporters in comfort. The West stand has two tiers and all corporate and media facilities. The Boothen and East stands seat 6,006 and 8,789 people respectively. The South Stand welcomes both home and away fans and holds 4,996. Between the West and South stands are dressing rooms, offices, the boardroom, ticket office and club store. Visitors find a modern stadium with improved access. A bridge over the A50 and an underpass on Stanley Matthews Way ease traffic flow. The Boothen Quarter opened behind the Boothen End as a fan zone. LED floodlights allow evening light shows. The away end moved to the south-east corner with safe standing installed. The ground also hosts concerts and major events beyond football.
