Krakauhintermuehlen Pfarrkirche hl. Ulrich

The Catholic parish church of St Ulrich stands on a hillside in Krakauebene, a village in the Murau district of Styria. It belongs to the Murau deanery in the diocese of Graz-Seckau and is protected as a listed monument along with its parish house and graveyard. The church was built between 1790 and 1793 by master mason Lorenz Ferner. Inside, a wooden barrel vault from 1975 and flat wall pilasters divide the nave into three bays. The high altar, probably dating to 1750, holds statues by Balthasar Prandtstätter made around 1740. A baroque organ by Ludwig Mooser was installed in 1867, and one of the bells dates from the 15th century. Visitors find a church and parish house under a single roof, with a small onion-domed bell tower above the west front. The graveyard surrounds the building, and the interior shows plain rectangular windows and a wooden west gallery. The altar statues and the old bell remain from earlier centuries, while the 1975 restoration renewed the ceiling and organ loft.
