BMW Group Classic

BMW Group Classic sits on a 13 000 m² site north of Munich’s Olympic Village, close to the BMW Welt and the BMW Museum. The complex includes one of the first factory halls built by BMW in 1918, together with its original gateway and flanking buildings under walnut roofs. Eduard Herbert and Otho Orlando Kurz designed the gateway and halls between 1916 and 1918. The public can enter selected areas of the site, which opened in March 2016. In 2017 the historic gateway won the Munich façade prize. The company archive answers questions about the history of the firm, its brands and its products. BMW Group Classic also organises classic-car events, cares for a collection of about 1 000 vehicles, and provides services for owners of historic cars. These range from supplying spare parts to full restoration. Guided tours of the historic vehicle collection can be arranged. Classic cars and motorcycles by BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce are on display. Inside the building is Café Mo 66, and a glass-walled workshop lets owners watch mechanics work on their cars. Since 2000 the organisation has helped run the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on Lake Como.
