Technik-Museum Kassel

The Technik-Museum Kassel stands in the Rothenditmold district on the site of the former Henschel-Werk II. Since its founding in 2010, it has occupied the Wolfhager Straße address. The non-profit association behind the museum was created in 2005 to preserve local industrial heritage. The collection spans twelve areas, from mining and mobility to steam and space technology. Visitors find tools, locomotives, aircraft instruments, fire-fighting gear and model railways. Special exhibitions have featured Neumann-Neander vehicles and photographs by Sebastian Voltmer. Inside the Henschelmuseum building on site, the Henschel company’s history is told. The museum grounds also hold the larger Technik-Museum displays. Together they show how Kassel shaped regional industry across the centuries.
