Kriechbaumhof
The Kriechbaumhof stands in Munich’s Haidhausen district, a 17th-century alpenländischer Bauernhof moved in 1976 from Wolfgangstraße to Preysingstraße 71 after becoming unsafe. The building was dismantled and stored before reconstruction in 1985 using many original parts. It is now listed as a single monument in the Bavarian Denkmalliste. For centuries it served as an inn and remained inhabited until the 1970s. Today it belongs to the Munich society for urban renewal and houses the clubrooms of the Munich branch of the German Alpine Youth Association (JDAV). The reconstruction cost 1.1 million Deutsche Marks. Visitors find a timber-framed farmhouse with original beams and fittings set in an urban courtyard. The exterior shows the typical alpenländischer style with painted shutters and a wide overhanging roof. Inside, the main room serves as a meeting space for climbers and hikers.
