The Gräbersberg stands 513 metres above sea level in the western part of the Westerwald range. It is the highest point in that area, rising above rolling hills and forests. The slopes drop down to the village of Alpenrod, which belongs to the Hachenburg collective municipality. To the south lies the protected Westerwald Lake District and the village of Lochum. The land around the hill is mostly rural, with scattered farms and woodlands.

The hill is worth the journey for its 73-metre-high viewing tower built in 1998. The tower was erected by the mobile phone operator E-Plus, and its viewing platform sits 33 metres above the ground. The platform has a diameter of 8.5 metres, offering space for several visitors at once. From this height, the views stretch across the Westerwald and beyond. The tower is a modern landmark in an otherwise quiet landscape.

Visitors find a simple metal tower at the summit with a circular platform. The platform is enclosed by a low railing for safety. The climb up the internal staircase is straightforward, with no special equipment needed. On clear days, the outlook takes in distant hills and the patchwork of fields below. The surrounding area remains peaceful, with only the occasional walker passing by. The tower stands as a quiet observation point in a rural setting.
