Pfarrkirche hl. Oswald, Puch bei Weiz
The parish church of Puch bei Weiz stands in the village of Puch in the Weiz district of Styria. It belongs to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Graz-Seckau and is dedicated to Saint Oswald. The church has been under official protection since the 20th century. The building began as a church in 1386 and became a parish in 1662. A major rebuilding followed in the 17th century, and a full restoration took place in 1974. The tower bears the date 1466 on its portal, and the roof above the bells is topped with a bulbous dome. Inside, a three-bay nave has lightly decorated cross-vaults added in the 17th century. The high altar of 1768, carved by Jakob Peyer, shows a painting of Saint Oswald from 1772. A Roman stone from the 2nd century is built into the churchyard wall. The organ, installed in 1894, was replaced in 2003 by an instrument from Udine.
