The Hasenkopf is a forested hill rising to 895 metres on the Salzburg–Upper Austria border. It sits in the Kolomansberg massif, part of the Mondsee Flysch range, between the Wallersee and Irrsee lakes. The summit ridge runs north–south, with the Wildeneck ruins visible on the north-west flank.

The hill’s geology shows folded Upper Cretaceous flysch, the summit in Altlengbach Formation and the southern shoulder in older Zementmergel beds. Water from the west slopes drains to the Irrsee, while streams on the east side feed the Wallersee, marking the divide between the Salzach and Ager catchments.

A forest road and several footpaths reach the top from all directions. The Arnoweg and Via Nova long-distance trails briefly share the western slope before the main route turns south to the Goldene Kutsche landmark. Nearby stands the Toter Mann memorial to a 1826 murder during the Anglöckeln begging custom.
