The DomQuartier Salzburg is a museum complex in the city that opened in 2014. It brings together buildings and art collections around Salzburg Cathedral and Domplatz. The complex includes the Salzburg Residenz, St Peter’s Abbey, and the cathedral itself.

The DomQuartier makes previously closed areas accessible. These include the Dombögen, the Wallistrakt, and a link from the Residenz to the Franciscan Church. The former Salzburg Baroque Museum’s objects were moved here, and St Peter’s collections are shown to the public for the first time. The complex features the Residenz’s state rooms, the Residenzgalerie, the Dom museum with its treasury, and St Peter’s long gallery.

Visitors walk through grand halls, ornate galleries, and the cathedral’s organ loft. The route passes the Domschatz in the south oratory and the Kunst- und Wunderkammer in the Dombögen. The Franciscan Church can be viewed from an unusual angle. The DomQuartier also hosts changing exhibitions and themed tours that explore Salzburg’s Baroque heritage.

Opening hours and admission can change with the season. Check before you go: domquartier.at
