The Fernmeldeturm Weilerskopf is a 130-metre telecommunications tower built in 1969 on an exclave of Herxheim am Berg in Rheinland-Pfalz. It belongs to the standardised FMT 2 type used across post-war Germany. The tower once broadcast radio signals in DAB mode for the Ludwigshafener L-band block LB. Its effective radiated power reached 1 kilowatt, making it the main transmitter for the region. Today only mobile and directional radio links remain active.

The site sits on a forested hilltop that overlooks the Palatinate countryside. The tower’s concrete shaft rises from a wooded slope, giving it a slender profile against the sky. Its location on an exclave means the land around it is surrounded by other municipalities yet belongs to Herxheim am Berg. The structure was part of a nationwide network of similar towers built in the late 1960s.

Visitors reach the tower via forest tracks that climb from the valley below. The base is surrounded by tall pines and beech trees, creating a quiet setting. From the footpath the tower appears as a tall white shaft topped by aerials. The view from the hill extends over vineyards and small villages in the distance.
